It is important to us that we do what we can as individuals and as a community to protect our environment. In addition, we feel strongly that we should play a role in helping others recognize the needs of our world. We are just beginning our efforts in this area. Watch for more opportunities to participate soon. A list of some of the things we've done: Participated in 10-10-10 Work Parties. Participated in 350 International Day of Climate Action. A number of members walk, bike, and/or carpool to our services. We use very little paper. Almost all communications are by email. We recycle the paper we do use, plus cardboard, plastic, metal, and glass. We use glass plates, real silverware, and cloth napkins. Soon, we hope to soon use only ceramic cups, but in the meantime we utilize ecotainers (compostable made with PLA [corn starch] and petroleum-free) cups, even though they are costlier up-front than others. We carefully separate and properly bag our biodegradable/compostable items. We purchase green cleaning supplies. Continuously look for more ways to be friendly to the environment.

Environmental Actions: Live Oak Unitarian Universalist Fellowship
